What is the longest amount of time you can comfortably go without picking up a book?
I’m pretty sure I have gone a month without picking up a book. Reading slumps take charge when they appear. I don’t know if I could ever go that long again.
How many books do you carry on your person at any one time?
I carry at least one physical book, and then I have all of the e-books on my phone that I have access to at any given time.
Do you keep every book you buy/receive or are you happy to pass them on to make room for more?
No, I don’t keep all of them, or I at least try not to. I do struggle letting go of books though.
How long would you spend in a bookshop on a standard visit?
A standard visit would probably equal an hour. I have never really paid attention though.
How much time per day do you spend reading?
It depends on the day. I would say 1-2 hours total…maybe. I work full-time, so it can be quite challenging.
When does the task ‘picking up a book’ appear on your daily to-do list?
I try to make it a goal everyday. If I can’t pick one up, then it’s not a big deal.
How many books do you own in total (including e-books)?
I’m not home to count, but I would say at least 200. There’s no way I have less than that.
Approximately how many times do you bring up books in conversation?
You would be surprised. I work in a library, so it pretty much comes up in every conversation.
What is the biggest book (page count) you have finished reading?
It by Stephen King is the longest book I have ever finished reading. I believe it was somewhere around 1,150 pages.
Is there a book you had to get your hands on against all odds?
Signed copy of Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng! I couldn’t pass that opportunity up. I own a paperback copy that I want to annotate in the near future too.
